Carnegie Mellon Qatar showcases Q-SmartLab at Civil Defence Exhibition and Conference

Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar exhibited Q-SmartLab, the university’s Securities Market Analysis Research & Training Lab, at the Civil Defence Exhibition and Conference at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center from November 2 to 4.

Q-SmartLab is an interface which enables researchers to create visual dashboards linking raw market data to users who wish to leverage the information. The interface extracts new intelligence by organising and analysing information using visual data and business analytics, and computer science techniques. John O'Brien, associate dean at Carnegie Mellon Qatar and co-director of the Q-SmartLab presented the project to hundreds of attendees.
