CMU-Q students win third at Dubai sustainability conference
A team of students placed third in the Inter-College Environmental Public Speaking Competition organized by the Emirates Environmental Group (EEG). Held in Dubai, the annual competition is the most prominent sustainability competition in the region. This year’s competition attracted 56 teams from across the Arab world.
The CMU-Q team consisted of four students: Kaltham Al-Khuzaei, Noor Al-Athba Al-Marri, Zanib Khalid and Ibrahim Soltan. At the competition, Soltan and Al-Khuzaei presented ‘e-bonus,’ an innovation the team created, prototyped, tested and validated, as part of their assessment in the information systems and sustainability course.
The team won third place in the competition, and second in the category of e-waste.
