CMU-Q wins national debate competition

Two CMU-Q students are the national champions of Qatar after prevailing at the Qatar Universities Debating League national tournament on April 1 and 2. Carnegie Mellon's Yousuf Akhlaq and Moussa Zekak emerged victorious at the grand finals over teams from Texas A&M Qatar, Georgetown University in Qatar and another CMU-Q team.

This is the first national championship for CMU-Q since 2013. The event was held at Georgetown University in Qatar, with teams representing seven universities: CMU-Q, Texas A&M Qatar, Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar, Georgetown University in Qatar, Northwestern University in Qatar, Qatar University and College of the North Atlantic Qatar.
