A Task Force to advise on steps Carnegie Mellon can take to support a climate that is more diverse, inclusive, equitable, respectful and understanding for all faculty, students, and staff. The output of the task force will be an analysis of the climate at our campus, and recommendations for actions we can take, both short term and long term.

Recognition for being a member of a community event titled “SDG Education and Design Bootcamp”. I was a mentor and co-designer for this bootcamp, which was a one day event where participants were given crash courses in SDG related topics and then co-designed an innovative educational tool with SDG goals in mind.

The CMU IDEAS Forum is an initiative by the CMUQ Debate Society. The CMU IDEAS is a Carnegie Mellon University based organization that aims to build a global conversation on issues concerning members of our diverse community. By reflecting on the lessons of the past and critically analyzing the present, our community can play its role to solve the problems of the future. My role is to advise students on how they can proceed with the forum moving forward: topic/forum agenda, possible panelists, dates etc.

Implicit Bias Faculty Training

The mandate of this committee was to design and implement a faculty training about implicit bias. The audience was faculty that were part of search committees. The main purpose was to teach them about implicit bias in general and its impact in job searches, interviews and hiring, in order to increase explicit awareness and mitigate these biases in our processes.
