Exploring Qatar

On the Arabian Gulf, Doha has beautiful, mild winters and hot summers. The sun is almost always shining, and both the desert and sea views are spectacular.
Qatar is modern and cosmopolitan, but heritage and tradition remain at the heart of the country. Visitors can explore the spiritual heritage at sites like the National Mosque and the Museum of Islamic Art, and the rich traditional culture through historical sites, souqs and museums.
As the hosts of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Qatar is now an international sporting hub. Fans can see a wide range of world-class events, including tennis, golf, swimming, gymnastics, and football. Qatar has excellent sports facilities, and avid communities of runners, padel players, golfers, cricketers, footballers, cyclists, and many more.
For those who enjoy shopping, Doha has options from traditional souqs to high fashion. Souq Waqif is the central hub of traditional shopping where you can find a particularly nice selection of homegrown dates and spices, as well as fabrics and handmade crafts that reflect Qatar’s rich culture and heritage.
The vibrant Doha Port neighbourhood is home to a cruise ship terminal, the lively Mina District and destinations like Box Park and the Museum of Islamic Art.
Located next to the iconic Souq Waqif is Msheireb Downtown Doha, a smart and sustainable arts district that is a must-see destination in Doha.
Just a short drive from Doha is the Al Thakira Mangrove Forest, a beautiful natural wonder that attracts migratory birds like herons and flamingos. Kayaking through the mangroves is a must for nature enthusiasts.
To get away from the city, Doha residents go to the desert for stargazing, dune-bashing, and winter camping. Doha’s desert is also home to two stunning, world-class art installations and the fascinating UNESCO world heritage site, Al Zubara Fort.
Doha is an intercontinental hub, and residents are in an ideal location to explore Asia, Africa, Europe and of course, the Middle East.
