Media Advisory: 7th Regional Botball® Robotics Competition

Event: Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar is hosting the 7th Regional Botball® Robotics Challenge at its building in Education City. Botball® is a robotics competition, introduced in the United States, where high school students build autonomously operated robots that compete against each other in a non-destructive tournament. 26 teams from high schools in Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and U.A.E. will compete in the final challenge.

Participating schools from Qatar: Ahmed Ben Mohammed Al Thani Independent Secondary School, Al Ieman Independent Secondary School for Girls, Al Bayan Independent Secondary School for Girls, Al Khor International School, Al Wakra Independent Secondary School, American School of Doha, Doha College, Doha Independent Secondary School, DPS-Modern Indian School, Hamza Prep Independent School, Khalifa Independent Secondary School, Lebanese School, Lycee Bonaparte, Middle East International School, Omar bin Al Khattab Secondary School for Boys, Qatar Academy and Raba’a Independent Secondary School for Girls.

When: Friday, March 25, 2011 9.00 am – Seating Rounds 1.30pm – Double Elimination Rounds 5.00pm – Awards Ceremony
