Students network with Qatar’s top employers

Carnegie Mellon Qatar hosted a networking event to bring students and prospective employers together. The Network to Get Work event involved 40 select companies from a variety of industries, all of whom have internship and job opportunities for students and new graduates. There were 112 students who attended the event, which was supported by Nestle.

In addition to human resources personnel, the CMU-Q Career Development Office brought in technical and business line managers who can more accurately assess students’ skills and abilities.

“Networking events are important venues for our students to meet prospective employers. They are likewise a way for us to reach out to industry and government in Qatar and show them the quality of a Carnegie Mellon education,” said Ilker Baybars, dean and CEO of CMU-Q.

Several of the participating companies have long-standing, formal partnerships with CMU-Q. Twenty-seven organizations are new to CMU-Q.
